Chelcee Johns is an Executive Editor at Storehouse Voices. She has been a part of Penguin Random House since the fall of 2020 and spent her first four years at the Ballantine Books imprint. Prior to her time at Penguin Random House, she shepherded titles at Simon & Schuster’s 37 Ink imprint. Chelcee has worked on bestselling and award-winning titles including New York Times bestseller The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris, National Book Award longlisted Heads of the Colored People by Nafissa Thompson-Spires, The Best Man: Unfinished Business by Malcolm D. Lee and Jayne Allen, and the critically acclaimed The Final Revival of Opal & Nev by Dawnie Walton, as well as with authors such as Ntozake Shange and Alice Walker. Chelcee loves books that teem with agency, intellect, and heart.
