Three new original DOCTOR WHO novels starring the Twelfth Doctor as played by Peter Capaldi

For more than fifty years, Doctor Who has captured the attention of fans of all ages with the Doctor’s witty banter, quick thinking, and astounding adventures. As the premiere of the new season approaches this fall, Broadway Books is thrilled to add three original Doctor Who tie-in novels to our series. Available in stores on September 8, 2015, these books are sure to please Whovians everywhere. Trevor Baxendale’s Doctor Who: Deep Time, Gary Russell’s Doctor Who: Big Bang Generation, and Una McCormack’s Doctor Who: Royal Blood feature the Twelfth Doctor as he protects the human race from the unfathomable evils of the universe. All three books were penned in collaboration with the BBC Wales production team.

ABOUT THE BOOKS AND THEIR AUTHORS

In Doctor Who: Deep Time, the Doctor and Clara travel far into the future to join the team who discovered the location of the last Phaeron road in the universe, left behind by an ancient race that disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Attempting to decipher the relics left behind by the Phaeron, the team tries to determine what happened: were they eradicated by a superior force? Did they destroy themselves? Only the Doctor knows the truth behind the disappearance of the Phaeron, and this terrible secret haunts him once again.

Trevor Baxendale has written both Doctor Who and Torchwood novels for BBC Books, including Eater of Wasps, The Undertaker’s Gift, and the award-winning Prisoner of the Daleks. His novel Fear of the Dark was reprinted in 2013 as part of Doctor Who’s fiftieth anniversary celebrations. Deep Time is his tenth novel.

In Doctor Who: Big Bang Generation, the Doctor finds himself leading a crew of misfits—including Legs (the sexy comedian), Dog Boy (the ammunitions expert), Shortie (who handles logistics), and Da Trowel (the excavator and historian)—in an attempt to thwart the theft of a pyramid that recently emerged from a time portal in Sydney Cove. Battling monsters, alien assassins, and con artists alike, the Doctor and his team must protect the glowing pyramid in order to avoid an explosion that would make the Big Bang look inconsequential.

Gary Russell has written more than thirty-five fiction and nonfiction books on subjects including Doctor Who, The Lord of the Rings movies, Frasier, and The Simpsons. He has served as editor of Doctor Who magazine, creative producer at Big Finish Productions Ltd, and script editor at BBC Wales. He now works at Planet 55 Studios in Australia.

Doctor Who: Royal Blood follows Clara and the Doctor back in time to Varuz, a failing city-state in the hands of Duke Aurelian. Hoping to win one final battle in an attempt to maintain power, Aurelian asks for the Doctor’s blessing—but plots to overthrow the Duke, a quest for the Holy Grail, and an anxious ambassador confirm that there is more going on in Varuz than meets the eye.

Una McCormack is a New York Times bestselling author. She has written two Doctor Who novels featuring the Eleventh Doctor, Amy, and Rory—The King’s Dragon and The Way Through the Woods—as well as several audio dramas for Big Finish. She lives in Cambridge with her partner, Matthew, and their daughter, Verity.
