— Publisher Simultaneously Unveils Book Jacket —

(July 23, 2015 – New York, NY) Crown Publishers today announced that the highly anticipated memoir by Sue Klebold will be published on February 16, 2016.  Titled A Mother’s Reckoning: Living in the Aftermath of Tragedy, the book will be released in the U.S. and Canada in hardcover, e-book, and audio formats. The book will also be simultaneously issued in the UK by WH Allen, an imprint of Ebury/Penguin Random House UK. Crown also unveiled the book jacket image.

In A Mother’s Reckoning, Ms. Klebold chronicles for the first time her journey as a mother over the past sixteen years, trying to come to terms with the incomprehensible following the tragic events of April 20, 1999, when Eric Harris and her son Dylan walked into Columbine High School in Colorado, killed twelve students and a teacher, and wounded twenty-four others before taking their own lives. In coming forward after so many years of silence, Ms. Klebold writes with unflinching honesty, telling her story as faithfully as possible in order to share the insights and understanding she has gained in the terrible crucible of Columbine to help other families recognize signs that a child may need help. Although at times paralyzed by her grief and remorse, she has become a passionate and vocal advocate working to advance mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Ms. Klebold will donate her profits from the book to research and to charitable foundations focusing on mental health issues.
