Tamira Chapman
Publisher
Tamira Chapman, Publisher, is a trailblazing entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and the founder of Storehouse In A Box, LLC (SIAB). Her company has been recognized globally, ranking as the eighth-fastest-growing woman-owned business. Tamira combines her expertise in intellectual property law and passion for community-driven initiatives to lead Storehouse Voices in elevating underpublished voices and reshaping the publishing industry.
Porscha Burke
Associate Publisher
Porscha Burke is Associate Publisher of Storehouse Voices, an imprint of the Crown Publishing Group at Penguin Random House. With more than twenty years’ experience working with PRH’s executive teams, she has acquired and edited works by Dr. Maya Angelou, Jon Meacham, Candice Marie Benbow, Bryant Terry, Kathy Iandoli, and Queen Afua, among others, and spearheaded new editions of The Autobiography of Malcolm X and The Black Book, originally edited by Toni Morrison. A Queens, New York, native and University of Virginia graduate, Porscha received her MFA in creative nonfiction from Goucher College, where she currently teaches.
Jennifer Baker
Editorial Director
Jennifer Baker is the Editorial Director of Storehouse Voices. With more than twenty years in publishing that covers roles in editorial, production, and media, Jennifer also has a wide variety of editorial experience spanning literary and commercial fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and graphic narratives. At Storehouse Voices, she acquires narrative nonfiction that is inquisitive, probing, and solutions-based. In this area, she’s eagerly seeking more humor as well as stories that merge the personal with hard or behavioral science. She also acquires commercial fiction with propulsive plots and deeply engaging characters in areas of romance, horror, thriller, mystery, and speculative. Jennifer’s acquisitions in her previous positions include USA Today bestseller The Fallen Fruit by Shawntelle Madison, Positive Obsession: The Life and Times of Octavia Butler by Dr. Susana M. Morris, Nervous: Essays on Healing and Heritage by Jen Soriano, Mainline Mama: A Memoir by Keeonna Harris, No Sweet Without Brine by Cynthia Manick, and I Curse You with Joy by Tiffany Haddish. She has also developed titles by Jenifer Lewis, Tanisha C. Ford, and Jessica Pryce.
Chelcee Johns
Executive Editor
Chelcee Johns is an Executive Editor at Storehouse Voices. She has been a part of Penguin Random House since the fall of 2020 and spent her first four years at the Ballantine Books imprint. Prior to her time at Penguin Random House, she shepherded titles at Simon & Schuster’s 37 Ink imprint. Chelcee has worked on bestselling and award-winning titles including New York Times bestseller The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris, National Book Award longlisted Heads of the Colored People by Nafissa Thompson-Spires, The Best Man: Unfinished Business by Malcolm D. Lee and Jayne Allen, and the critically acclaimed The Final Revival of Opal & Nev by Dawnie Walton, as well as with authors such as Ntozake Shange and Alice Walker. Chelcee loves books that teem with agency, intellect, and heart. Her previous publications include the critically acclaimed Neruda on the Park by Cleyvis Natera, Amazon Best Books of 2022 Such Big Dreams by Reema Patel, 2024 NAACP Image Award winner Rootless by Krystal Zara Appiah, among others. Her forthcoming titles include Nasty Work: Resist Systems, Explore Desire, and Liberate Yourself by sexuality and social justice educator Ericka Hart and Redeem a Nation by Damario Solomon-Simmons, leading civil rights lawyer and restorative justice expert.
Camryn Johnson
Editorial Assistant
Camryn Johnson joined Crown Publishing Group in October 2025 as an Editorial Assistant following a brief stint in marketing at Simon & Schuster. She supports Storehouse Voices Editorial Director Jennifer Baker and Executive Editor Chelcee Johns. Her core reading interests are grounded speculative fiction, horror, and narrative memoir characterized by deft prose and well-crafted social commentary as well as practical yet propulsive commercial nonfiction. Camryn graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut with BAs in English and American Sign Language. She hails from northern Connecticut and currently resides in Queens, New York.
Isabela Alcantara
Publishing Associate
Isabela Alcantara is a Publishing Associate at Storehouse Voices. With four years of publishing experience, Isabela is dedicated to supporting the imprint’s mission of fostering community and inclusivity in the literary world. Previously, she was the publishing assistant to the President/Publisher and Deputy Publisher of the Crown Publishing Group. In her new role, Isabela plays a vital part in ensuring the seamless operation of Storehouse Voices’ publishing processes.
Christopher Brand
Vice President and Creative Director
Christopher Brand is Vice President and Creative Director at Crown. He graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 2007 and has worked at Penguin Random House since 2008. His design work has been recognized by the Art Directors Club, AIGA, Type Directors Club, AI-AP, PRINT magazine, and the New York Times.
Rachel Berkowitz
Vice President, Director, Subsidiary Rights, Crown Publishing Group
Rachel Berkowitz is Vice President and Director of Subsidiary Rights at the Crown Publishing Group, where she oversees domestic and foreign rights across all imprints. Rachel brings expertise in licensing across categories such as business, science, history, memoir, narrative nonfiction, self-help, cookery, gift, and both commercial and literary fiction. Since joining Crown in 2009, she has negotiated rights deals for a wide range of bestselling and influential authors, including Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, George W. Bush, Deepak Chopra, Ai Weiwei, Greg McKeown, Martha Stewart, Matty Matheson, Peter Attia, Gillian Flynn, Andy Weir, and the forthcoming Empyrean Graphic series by Rebecca Yarros. She and the rights team also represent CPG at major international book fairs. Prior to joining Crown, she was a literary book and film scout for more than a decade.
