The Land of Painted Caves Cover Unveiled

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

Today the cover for Jean Auel’s forthcoming The Land of Painted Caves was unveiled. Scheduled to be published March 29, 2011, The Land of Painted Caves is the 6th book in Auel’s “Earth’s Children©” series which started three decades ago with the iconic The Clan of the Cave Bear.

In order to write the series, set 35,000 years ago in prehistoric Europe, Jean made sure to do her research. She knows how to soften hides with deer brains, start a fire without matches and slept in a snow cave for a night. Dedication, she has, and this final book promises to be of the same caliber as her others. It even has a “little surprise.”

And although this is it for “Earth’s Children,” it may not be the end of Ayla’s story. In an interview with the Associated Press, the author says, “To be honest, I don’t feel like I’m through.”

We hope not.
