Momentary Christmas shops pop up overnight reminding us to start planning our gift giving, Hallmark channel commercials hark the arrival of Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer. And, in the publishing world, we dust off those titles that are perennial Christmas books which are ready to once again be put on tables and end caps.
One such Christmas staple is A Christmas Story by Jean Shepherd. I’ve seen White Christmas, A Christmas Carol is a tradition in my household, Frosty the Snowman, Charlie Brown, Miracle on 34th Street, the list goes on. Until one week ago, I had never seen nor read A Christmas Story. I’m still amazed at how I managed to miss out on this beloved tale.
